What are the ways to satisfy your chocolate craving? Since chocolate is one of the most popular cravings, I thought I would focus on this. Chocolate can often be a girl’s best friend and a worst enemy at the same time. It is your best friend when you are giving into a craving and an enemy when you are stepping on the scale the next day! Let’s face it, cravings in general can sabotage your weight loss. This is especially the case if you are having daily cravings. And often, once you give in to your cravings, you will fall off the wagon of losing weight and working hard towards your goal. Here are the 7 ways to satisfy your chocolate craving:

1. See if Your Craving Goes Away

The rule of thumb is usually to utilize the 15 minute rule. If you find yourself still with an immense craving after 15 minutes, you are usually having a true craving. But 90% of the time your craving will actually go away. “Waiting it out” is one of the ways to satisfy your chocolate craving.

2. Water

Hydrate your body and fill up your stomach devoid of any chocolate. Satisfy your craving by having 2 tall glasses of water. Weight loss studies have proven that simply drinking water can ward off a craving, and you should aim for 6-8 glasses of water a day!

3. Fruit

Satisfy your sweet tooth and better your health by having a piece of fruit. Fruit is natural sugar and you will provide your body with vitamins to boost your immune system. If you have berries you will also have some disease fighting antioxidants in your fruit!

4. Protein

Often when your body is craving one thing, you may actually be deficit in another vitamin or nutrient. If you are craving chocolate, try replacing this craving with a thin layer of peanut butter on a rice cake. This healthier substitute will satisfy your sweet tooth and provide you with some protein and fiber!

5. Distraction

Sometimes a simple walk or a run will get your mind off what you are craving, so get out and distract yourself. Your craving is not a mineral or vitamin need but just a craving, so take it as that and try to do activities that are not surrounded around food. If we eat for health, enjoying life is more important than what our next meal is.

6. Mini Meals Throughout the Day

Medical studies have proven that if you eat mini meals throughout the day, you will have less cravings, weigh less and have more energy. Plan small mini meals every 2-3 hours so you will maintain your blood sugar level and diminish cravings.

7. Life is Moderation

I have always lived my life in moderation in every aspect and this includes my meal planning. If I find myself having a strong craving that just will not go away, I satisfy my craving in moderation. So have a few squares of dark chocolate and feel guiltless. And if you are out with friends and they order a chocolate cake, just have a few bites rather than your own slice. Life in moderation is a healthy and happy life worth living.

Chocolates r too addictive

Good I needed this !!!

I have a need to have something sweet after each meal. Is this normal? How do I stop myself from overindulging and finishing a pound of dark chocolate a day?

To soothe my craving I have taken 2 vitamin c chewable sand it usually helps

Well i was hoping this would have recipes involving Nutella and Hershey's and still be healthy, because avoiding my craving isn't the same thing to me as satisfying them.
