3. Skip Potatoes
Sure, potatoes are technically a vegetable, but they are much more slowly digested carbohydrate then pretty much all other types of veg. Try something out: whenever you are planning on adding a potato to your meal, switch it out instead for something like a carrot, turnip, swede, or you could even get on the sweet potato bandwagon because they are much healthier for you overall.
4. Veggie Night
If you are a meat eater, then it’s likely that meat, fish or poultry makes up the main ingredient for every meal that you eat during the week. Try to cut down on this by committing to at least one veggie night a week where you make a dinner that is completely meat free. This will encourage you to think of fruit and vegetable alternatives and will help you to see that you can use the products for more than just a snack on their own.
5. Smoothies
Smoothies are the absolute best way to trick yourself into consuming more fruit and vegetables! Rather than sitting there and eating a plate full of greens or fruit, you can add them to a mixer and make a delicious and healthy drink from them. What could be better!?
