Lately I have been making a conscious effort to eat healthy, exercise and generally be good to my body. However, there are some days that I feel like I have lost all control and literally want to eat my way through London. On these days I have taken to looking up inspirational quotes about healthy living to help pull me through. If you want to stay on the wagon and need a little support or motivation, check out these nuggets of inspiration...
1 Taste Vs. Feeling
I changed this inspirational quote about healthy living because it originally said "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." Whereas, I would say that a healthier outlook is "Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels." It’s true though, how good does it feel to not worry so much whether something will fit you but more if you like it or not? Or to feel light on your feet and know you are looking good?
2 Mind Vs. Body
"Don’t let you mind bully your body." I particularly like this inspirational quote about healthy living as it helps us to look at the situation from an outside perspective. What is your mind saying? Do you really want to listen to it or do you want to soldier on and achieve your goals?
3 Willpower Vs. Change
"It’s not that some people have will power and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and some are not." (James Gordon) This inspirational quote about healthy living can relate to all areas of our lives. But it really does come down to one simple question - Do you really want to change or do you just want to pretend you do and then complain every now and then when you fail?
4 Now Vs. Later
"Never trade what you want the most for what you want at the moment." Ohhh, I love this inspirational quote about healthy living. Keep the end goal in mind and don’t be tripped up by distractions along the way. In a weak moment I try to ask myself, is it worth having a second helping over feeling fabulous in my bikini on holiday in two months time? I think not!
5 Tough Love
If I had to choose between someone patting me on the back and saying ‘'Just do what you can" and someone else saying "Suck it up and someday you won’t have to suck it in," I would go for the latter every time. This inspirational quote about healthy living does not beat about the bush - "Suck it up and someday you won’t have to suck it in." Enough said.
6 Your One Shot
Another inspirational quote about healthy living that is true for all the other areas of your life as well is "I wake up every day with the realization that this is it, that there's only one shot at this life, and I can either enjoy the ride and live it to its fullest and to my highest potential, or I can stay the way I am." What would your body look like if you stopped the excuses, put down that muffin and realized its potential?
7 Good Vs. Bad Days
"You can’t get much done in life if you only work on the days that you feel good." (Johnny West) There’s much to be said about what we do in our weakest moments. This inspirational quote about healthy living helps me realize that the ‘bad days’ count just as much as the good days, if not more.
8 It Isn't Meant to Be Easy
"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." (Fred Devito) Are you finding sticking to your health regime hard? Good. If it was easy the results wouldn't be worth working for. That is why sitting on the couch eating chips is easy and hitting the pavements for 45 minutes is not so much.
9 Back to the Beginning
"When you feel like quitting, think about why you started." When you are lacking in motivation remember why you decided to make these positive changes in your life. Remember how it felt to want to change more than it did to want to do nothing.
If you have decided to make some healthy changes to your diet and lifestyle then you’ll of course come across days that things are harder to stick to than usual. These inspirational quotes for healthy living are there to be called upon when you could do with a positive push in the right direction. Does anyone else have any tips or quotes that they use to help them push on through?
