Here’s a marvelous list of 10 healthy snacks under 200 calories… that’s right! Every one of these healthy snacks, some salty, some sweet, are all under 200 calories! Read on…

1. Planters Nut-rition Omega-3 Mix

(Your reaction) Thank you!

A big handful of this tasty trail mix contains less than 200 calories, and will satisfy a sweet and a salty craving at the same time. The mix is loaded with tangy dried cranberries, rich walnuts, and sweet dark chocolate–covered soy nuts… yum!

2. Special K™ Multi-Grain Crackers

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Craving something salty and savory? Then try these fiber-rich, filling little crackers, made with wholesome multi-grain. One serving of 24 crackers has only 120 calories, so you’ll be full, satisfied, and ready to face the rest of your day, all without wrecking your diet.

3. Hummus and Pita

(Your reaction) Thank you!

One half of large piece of pita bread dipped in three tablespoons of hummus has about 150 calories, and tastes delicious! Cut the pita bread into strips, and opt for whole-grain pita if you can find it to add a little fiber, so you’ll feel fuller, longer. What more could you ask for in a healthy snack?

4. Kalamata Olives

(Your reaction) Thank you!

One heaping handful (about 10 olives) of Kalamata olives contains only 90 calories, and will cure even the saltiest of salt cravings. They even contain a little protein, and if you’re worried about fat, don’t be: most of the fat in these olives is the healthier monounsaturated variety. Being Greek myself, this one of my favorite healthy snacks.

5. Peanut Butter and Celery

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Who doesn’t love this crunchy sweet treat? Four small stalks of celery spread with about a half-tablespoon of peanut butter each contains about 180 calories, and is practically guaranteed to keep you full and happy (and energized) between breakfast and lunch. Isn’t that what a healthy snack is supposed to do?

6. Almonds and/or Cashews

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Here’s yet another low calorie, healthy snack that will satisfy a craving for salt. A heaping handful of about 20 almonds or cashews (or a mix of them) contains about 200 calories.

7. Ciao Bella Ecuadorian Passion Fruit Sorbet

(Your reaction) Thank you!

While this sweet treat may not be very easy to find, it’s worth a little grocery-store hunting. It’s sweet and delicious, especially in summer, and one cup contains less than 200 calories… sweet!

8. Kiwi and Strawberry Fruit Salad

(Your reaction) Thank you!

An entire kiwi and a handful of strawberries may not look like much, but slice them and toss them together, and you have a sweet, healthy snack, one with less than 100 calories. This berry and kiwi salad is so much healthier for you than a candy bar, and will be just as effective at satisfying your sweet tooth!

9. Peach

(Your reaction) Thank you!

Here’s another fruit that will curb a sweet craving, and, since it’s loaded with Vitamin C, it’s another healthy snack! The only downside? Peaches are in season only 4 short months of the year, so can them yourself (in juice, not syrup) or buy them as fruit cups (again, without added sugar).

10. Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars - Cherry Dark Chocolate

(Your reaction) Thank you!

I’m an admitted chocoholic, so I have to include at least one chocolate-y treat on my list, right? No worries though — this still qualifies as a healthy snack, since it’s dark chocolate, and since it still contains fewer than 200 calories (one bar contains 120 calories). Keep a box in your desk drawer at work to help get you over that 2 o’clock hump and keep you energized and full til supper.

With so many healthy snacks to choose from, with so few calories, you’ll never go hungry again! Which of these healthy snacks do you think you’ll add to your mid-morning or afternoon routine? Or do you have another healthy snack idea to share?
