1

You’re Always Tired

If you’re constantly dragging and lagging, that’s definitely one of the top signs your diet is out of balance. Any diet that leaves you fatigued isn’t for you, or perhaps you just need to be eating more. Give your new diet a chance for two weeks to allow your body to adjust before throwing in the towel. Then if you’re still constantly tired, you may want to consider that your body isn’t getting the nutrients it needs, or enough of them.

2

You’re Depressed

Sad and blue all the time and don't know why? You’re likely not getting enough amino acids, quality complex carbohydrates, and essential fats. Your body needs a critical balance of all three macronutrients, along with micronutrients from veggies and some fruits to be at its best. If you constantly feel glum or on the verge of tears, consider what you’re feeding your brain and body.

3

You Live off Caffeine

Coffee, yerba mate, chocolate, green tea, and black tea are all excellent for you in small doses, but if you depend on these to get you through the day, your diet can get out of balance quickly. Caffeine creates excess stress that leads to adrenal fatigue and even possible thyroid disorders.

4

No Diversity

The body thrives off diversity, so if you eat the same thing day in and day out, you’re likely out of balance and you need to switch things up. Digestive issues and intense cravings may be caused by nothing more than too little diversity during your meals. So whip out that cookbook and try something new, why don’t ya?

Digestive Woes

High fiber diets are healthy, but they aren't for everyone. Remember, too much fiber can prevent your body from absorbing necessary proteins and fats that you need for a healthy metabolism and proper assimilation of nutrients. Eat a balance of fats, carbs, and protein at all your meals, then lighten up on the fiber if your tummy is constantly upset.

Headaches

Headaches are normal during the first week or two of dietary changes, but if you have them consistently, you may need to make some changes. Too few calories, too much caffeine and sugar, or not enough protein are all common reasons behind those headaches you're having.

7

You’re Never Full

Always eating, but never full? Your food choices are likely to blame. In case you didn’t get the memo, low-calorie diets don’t work. Try to eat 100 calories more per meal, which is an easy fix that won't derail your diet.

No diet should leave you unhappy, hungry, or imbalanced. If you have any of the signs above, or your diet just isn’t doing it for you anymore, it’s time to make some changes. Have you ever experienced one of these signs your diet was imbalanced? What did you do to fix it?
