I'm here with a juicing 101 guide. Yes! You can use juicing for weight loss. Cooking reduces the nutritional content in most vegetables. Drinking vegetables raw allows the body to absorb more enzymes, nutrients, chlorophyll and antioxidants.

Study guide for Juicing 101? How to blend!

Don't have a juicer? Save yourself some money and use the blender! For all of the recipes I am sharing, all you need to do is:

- Place the ingredients in the blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Use some water in case contents get stuck.
- Place a mesh drainer over a bowl.
- Pour over the bowl, reserving pulp for smoothies or baked goods.
- Pour juice into a glass or cover and chill.

Voila!

Adding protein can make your juice more balanced. Use almond milk, Greek yogurt, flaxseed or peanut butter.

1. Mean Green Toxin Flusher

Ingredients:
1 cup pineapple, cubed
1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
8 ounces of filtered water
1/2 teaspoon of fresh, grated ginger (optional)

The protein in almonds helps build and repair muscle, while the potassium balances your electrolytes and fluids.

Ingredients:
2 medium oranges (10 ounces total), peeled and cut into chunks
1/4 cup whole, raw almonds
1 small sweet potato (about 4 ounces), scrubbed and coarsely chopped
1 medium apple (8 ounces), cored and cubed
1/2 cup water

6. Total Health Booster

A swig of this vitamin-packed beverage fuels your whole body and even helps to prevent aging. Lutein plus vitamins A and C increase collagen production for younger-looking skin.

Ingredients:
1 medium apple (8 ounces), cored and cubed
2 medium soft pears, cored and cubed (about 1 pound total)
1/2 cup cherries (fresh with pits removed or frozen and thawed)

7. Breakfast Zinger Juice

Start your day with this blend of energizing fruits and veggies. Gluten-free, low cholesterol, low fat, low sodium, no added sugar, vegan and vegetarian.

2 cups (480 ml) coconut water
2 lemons, seeded, halved
2 carrots, halved
2 apples, seeded, cored, quartered
2 beets, quartered
