1 Carry a Water Bottle

But following the advice of drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day can be a little hard to follow. 2 Double up on the Greens
Double up on the veggies when you are making a sandwich. There's no need to skip the meat, but there's also no need to add extra bacon. This does not apply for sandwiches alone; whenever you are cooking something, just toss in more greens. Doubling up on the greens goes a long way! Make sure you have a serving of veggies at every meal and fill your tummy with a salad first before your main course. You won't be going for seconds with your tummy full of greens!
3 Go Whole
Here's one that still allows you to eat your favourite foods by just adding in a wee bit of a healthy dose. You don't have to give up pasta or bread just because you want to eat healthy. Simple substitute white for whole. Whole wheat pasta, wholemeal bread, brown rice and whole grain cereal are all healthy and fibre-rich alternatives to bland boring white. The taste might take a little getting used to, but it's such an effortless way to eat healthy!
4 Swap Regular Potatoes with Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are the best! They taste really good and don't require any seasoning to enjoy their full flavour, but that's not all! Sweet potatoes are higher in vitamin C, fibre and have fewer calories and carbs than white potatoes. So swap in those regular potatoes once in awhile with sweet potatoes. Sweet potato fries, sweet potato wedges, etc - all taste just as good!
5 Snack Healthy, Keep It Yummy
You all are well aware of the advice to snack on healthy foods like fruits instead of gorging down foods that do nothing for your health. Easier said than done, right? When opting for the healthier choice, you want to choose foods that taste just as great and will satisfy your craving as well, be it sweet or salty. The next time you have the craving for ice-cream, go for frozen yoghurt instead. It's cold and sweet just like the ice-cream you want! Better still if you add fruits to your frozen yoghurt, that's one healthy and delicious snack! I like mine with cranberries! How about you? What you can also do is to slowly introduce healthy snacks rather than going for a full switch or swap, like eating half nuts and half chips as opposed to eating the whole bag of chips.
6 Don't Snack Straight out of the Bag
Speaking of eating a whole bag of chips, how many of you are guilty of snacking straight out of the bag? (I know I am!) When you eat straight from the bag, you are unable to keep track of the portions and will end up over-eating. Have you also realised that you tend to snack more when you are watching TV? This is why you should pour a bit of the snack into a bowl and you won't be getting up for seconds or thirds often because you wouldn't want to interrupt your TV time, would you?
7 Keep Unhealthy Foods out of the House
One of the best ways to ensure you don't consume unhealthy foods is to keep your pantry clear of them. Remove temptation by simply removing all those cookies, ice-cream, chocolates and all other junk foods that you have stashed away. You are less likely to give in to temptation when such foods are not easily within your reach. Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach because it influences your choices to buy high calorie foods. If, however, you are grocery shopping for junk food for cheat days, make sure you limit its quantity.
It's alright to indulge once in awhile; unhealthy foods are the weakness of many for a reason - they taste good. Eat them in moderation, but go overboard and you are doing more harm to your body than good. Don't aim to change your eating habits all at once, because that's where most people make a mistake.
