7 Ways to Keep Your Motivation High for Weight Loss ...

It is important to search for ways to keep your motivation high if you want to have success in your weight loss. Motivation makes the difference between success and failure. There are some great ways to keep your motivation high and I have them for you here. These ideas will take you all the way to your weight loss goal.

1. Surround Yourself with like Minded People

One of the best ways to keep your motivation high is to surround yourself with like-minded people. You can’t expect to have great results with your weight loss if you are with people all of the time that have no interest in losing weight. This does not mean that all of your friends must be on the same weight loss quest you are, but you do need some that care about fitness and having a healthy weight. If you don’t have any that do, it is time to find some. You might meet some at the gym or at a weight loss support group.

2. Change It up

Don’t get bored with your attempts to lose weight. Change it up and keep it fresh. Try different exercise routines to stay interested. This also has an added benefit of working different muscle groups. You can also try different recipes. There are so many great, tasteful recipes just waiting to be tried.

3. Reward Yourself along the Way

I don’t know about you, but if I am working hard, I want a reward. And I am betting that you do, too. Be sure to reward yourself along the way. You can do it however you wish. One little trick, though. Be sure to choose a reward that isn’t food.

4. Remind Yourself How Far You’ve Come

After all of your hard work to get where you are on your weight loss journey, you don’t want to lose that progress. If you need to, make a chart to hang up where you can see your progress. Record all of the compliments you are receiving in a notebook for motivation when you are having a bad day. Remind yourself of all you have done to get where you are. Remember all of the desserts and treats you have passed up and you will find the motivation to go on.

5. Post Some Pics

Post some pictures of yourself around your house or on your fridge. A lot of people advise posting a picture of yourself at your best weight. But for me, I have had better success posting pictures on my fridge of me at my highest weight because that reminds me to never allow myself to get back in that position again. 6. Don’t Obsess

Thinking about weight loss all the time is not a good idea. You can get yourself overwhelmed and get discouraged. Have more going on in your life than just your weight loss. Get a new hobby or make some more plans for your social calendar. Getting out and having fun can actually re-energize you for your weight loss journey. It can be the push you need to stay strong.

7. Purchase Something Just a Little Bit Too Small

If you are out shopping and see something that you absolutely love, consider purchasing it in a size just a little bit too small. Once you get it home, hang it on the outside of your closet door where you will see it often. Having a clothing item that you want to wear badly that is just a bit too small can be great motivation to push on to lose just a few more pounds. When you think of giving in to temptation, you can think of that article of clothing you are dying to wear and push onward. Before you know it, you will be looking gorgeous in it.
